All pictures shot with D800 + 50 mm f/1.4 in Flumserberg, Switzerland, at the end of a wonderful sunny day. Flumserberg is one hour away from Zurich and offers the skiers and the photographers of “down-town Switzerland” a very easy access to the slopes.
Warning: skiing with a Nikon D800 over the shoulder will provoke patronizing behaviours in skiers around you. Click to magnify and enjoy every detail of each picture.

Very interesting. The first image had a unique perspective. Were you on a chair lift? The aspect looks like it is turned about 30 degrees to the right. Additionally, the contrast between black and white enables the viewer to see aspects of the shot that would not normally be present with a colour shot. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Jim, I was on a chair lift for some of these pictures and they are all cropped out of 36MPx shots, Amazing they are still so sharp, isn’t it? About the 30 degrees, your golfer eye looks more expert than mine! These black and white are my favorite pictures together with a couple of other B&W series I published in the years. Thanks!

I used to be photogrammetrist – working with aspects and drawing scale images was the result. I have not done that for years now, but I still seem to like looking at the camera position…..can change an entire image. Love the photos, keep them coming!
Cheers
