Loved it! excellent capture..love the broken twig 🙂
the broken twig story is to be continued soon.
Love the pics. The colours are fantastic! Thanks for sharing.
Cheers

Thank you for the nice feedback. I am glad colors stay good also on different screens. When I watch my pictures on the three different monitors I have at disposal I am always quite doubtful about color temperatures and intensity displayed on different devices. It is not only about color calibration, with the 3 / 4 kind of displays we have on the market at the moment, for me it is virtually impossible to know how pictures will look like.
(chuckle) I was in the rain forest on the Masoala peninsula for about a month, and did a few posts from there (under Madagascar Road). People told me of the Swiss version. Excellent pictures, great colors – you saw far more birds than I did.
Were you independent traveler or somehow organized? I would love to visit the original Masoala (despite the lack of birds) but some friends did suggest me to avoid going to Madagascar alone.

Independent of course. I worried a bit before I went – see my post “Packing for Apocalypse”, esp about the state dept warnings. But as it turned out, no big problems. The only dangers were ok to handle – see the post “Happy Hoodlums” if you want an example.
Masoala was magic. I wouldn’t let friends or the state dept talk you out of going. I did 4 posts from there, will give you some sense of what to expect.
Even the capital, though a bit gritty, was interesting.
I really like all the pictures on the road you shot and show here http://alien-heartbeat.com/madagascar-road/
Any problem with some subjects not very happy of being in your pictures?
If the shot was of specific people, I would ask them. For bigger shots I just hung around on a corner or under a tree until people go used to me. If someone frowned, I lowered the camera.
So mostly no. but when I looked more closely at one big picture, I did see one person not too happy – but he had been too far away and small for me to see it when I shot.
Thanks for the hints, I will keep them in mind. Often I would like to shoot portraits of unknown people on the street and asking them might be a good choice.
if it is someone selling something (like a flower seller) usually i will buy something from them first. then talk to them a while before i ask them.
hello, where are the kingfishers of Zurich Zoo’s Masoala Rainforest?
Good question I don’t remember I ever saw them, and you?
