Sea tales
Segesta (Sestri Levante) is the queen of fairy tales: Hans Christian Handersen visited the town in 1833. He found about the local myth of Segesta, the mermaid, and her lover, the Triton. In 1837 published his most famous fairy tale ever: The Little Mermaid. He also named the western bay of Sestri Levante as “Fairy tales bay”. Since 1998, every year in June, Sestri Levante celebrates the Handersen literature prize.

Schanzegraben walkthrough
We previously had a quick look at Schanzegraben…did we miss anything behind?
Schanzegraben peculiar zigzag line follows the former ramparts through the city .
Clean and calm waters allow for a variety of sports like Kanu polo.
In the past, Schanzengraben was an unattractive factory canal: nowadays it harbors boats with access to lake Zurich
Venice or Schanzegraben?
And finally out of the canal to see the lake again, through a under-bridge passage placed below the lake level.
