The Italian blues of Lago Maggiore
Shadows of blues in the sky upon Lago Maggiore …
Shadows of blues on its lands and waters …
Rarely some clear object defines the horizon.
Only at sunset the lake surface marks its presence:
… just a glimpse before the blue night melts everything together.

The awesome patterns of Villa Taranto, Italy
… can you spy Villa Taranto in the background?
Don’t forget to pay a visit to Villa Taranto if you pass by Pallanza, Lago Maggiore, Italy.
… the most elegant botanical garden I have visited, together with Terra Nostra on Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal. Click on pictures to magnify.
Pictures shot with Nikon 16-35 mm f/4 or Nikon 70-200 mm f/2.8 VR-II on D800

White birds of Heaven: Isola Bella, Italy
On Isola Bella (“Beautiful Island”) on Maggiore Lake you might encounter quite a peculiar bird.
The voice of a squeaking old door …
… the magnetic eyes of a chicken …
… but the plumage directly from the garden of Heaven.
May you meet it before it starts “singing”…
… although its royal beauty is worth some ear pain.
Click on each picture to appreciate the wonderful plumage of this white peacock.
