This year snorkeling surprised with many encounters I supposed not usual in the Mediterranean sea. Common species of Red and Indian-Pacific seas were not rare in the Greek and Libyan sea of Crete in 2022

Sea urchins with very long (mildly venomous) needles

Red Lionfish (venomous, too) on both north and south shores

The good old, local Octopus

A delicious, Mediterranean cuttlefish

Barracuda, also (?) common the Mediterranean sea
