Flying and falling objects in August night sky
Around 300 pictures were shot tonight for a total of 120 minutes. Falling stars (Perseids), airplanes (dotted lines) and satellites (thin white segmented lines) fly across the sky. Can you distinguish them? Click to enlarge
Below, at least 10 falling stars are present in this hi-res composite image of only 10 shots (airplanes almost excluded): can you find them? Click the picture to enlarge it (takes some time to download it, it is big), then click on the magnifying lens to zoom in!
Finally, a single shot of the brightest falling star tonight. On its left, the galaxy of Andromeda the Pleiades, click to enlarge
Pictures shot with D800 on a tripod mounting a 16-35 mm f/4 – ISO 1200-2000, exposure time 25 secs.
Curtains down, curtains up: the reality behind
A house, a pier? Friends or foes?
There is not only water behind …
but the scene is still unclear.
Curtains up: the tour on Halbinsel Au reached its end. Click each picture to enlarge.
Bacchus’ labyrinth
The lake behind us, the labyrinth grasped us within.
Walls of grapes, walls of houses, where to go?
Is that the witch house or the exit?
… and when everything seemed lost, finally the sky above us! Click each picture to enlarge
The doubt: from a true story in Halbinsel Au
This afternoon everything was fine at the pond.
Dragonflies were flying low, easy catch for my tongue and for a Nikon 70-200 VR-II mounted on a D800
The murderer was there, yes, but on the other side …
then suddenly something swished through the canes (click to enlarge and watch him into his evil eyes)
and appeared above me with his stinky feathers (which you can see well thanks to the 70-200 VR-II bla bla, click to enlarge)
This is the last thing I remember. Am I in frog’s heaven now?
